Rachel Gutish aiming to become first American FIM Enduro World Champion in Germany

The Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship readies itself for a thrilling season finale at the POLISPORT GP of Germany this weekend in Zschopau. As championship leader, RIEJU Factory Team’s Rachel Gutish stands on the cusp of history by becoming the first American to win an FIM Enduro World Championship.

This weekend’s final round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship marks an exciting end to the Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship, with three riders fighting for world championship honours.

Gutish aiming for historic title win in Germany

After closely fought rounds in Portugal and Great Britain, before a return to Portugal in September, it is RIEJU Factory Teams’ Rachel Gutish who enters the fourth and final round of the Expotrade Women’s Enduro class with the points lead.

The 2024 vice-champion has delivered an incredibly consistent run of form to date, taking one race win and five runner-up results from six starts. That pace saw her move into the lead of the championship battle last time out in Portugal.

Now, with an 11-point advantage over her closest rival and teammate, Rosie Rowett in second, Gutish starts as favourite in Zschopau for the title. If Gutish can deliver, she will make history as the first rider from the United States to win an FIM Enduro World Championship.

Holding second overall, Rowett is enjoying a career-best season to date in 2025. The young Brit came to form by winning both days of her home GP in Wales. Placing second on day one in Portugal, before riding to fourth on day two, sees her arrive at the POLISPORT GP of Germany in a very strong position.

HRC Honda’s Francesca Nocera lies third overall in the championship chase having lost her points lead in Portugal. A mechanical on day one cruelly hampered the Italian’s title hopes with a non-score.

On day two, she fought back bravely to claim an important win. Now, with a 15-point deficit to Gutish, Nocera knows she must come out swinging on day one and claim victory to ensure that the title fight goes down to the wire on Sunday.

Although fourth in the standings, Team KBS Sherco’s Nieve Holmes will miss the event due to injury. Her absence opens the door for a close battle for the final top-five positions between Vilde Holt (KTM), Justine Martel (Beta) and Joana Goncalves (Husqvarna).

Tett and Lafont go head-to-head in Junior Women’s Enduro title fight

In the Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup, it’s Electraction TM MOTO’s Elizabeth Tett who leads the way. The young Brit also has a chance of making history by becoming the first-ever winner of the category. She holds a slender six-point advantage over France’s Lorna Lafont (Sherco) in second.

With little to separate them, the duo have split victories in both Wales and Portugal. If Tett can win on day one, it should ease her path to the title. However, if Lafont takes victory on day one, it will set up a winner-takes-all scenario for Sunday.

Round four of the Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship takes place alongside the seventh and final round of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship at Zschopau, Germany, 17-19 October.
